• Ponders End EN3 is an area in London Borough of Enfield, North London, located in a region known as a Lea Valley. The industry in the area gradually expanded in the 19th century.
• The Lea Valley (the valley of the River Lea or Lee) has been used as a transport corridor, a source of sand and gravel, an industrial area, a water supply for London, and a recreational area. In 2012 the Olympic Games was based in the valley, at Stratford. The valley of the Lea formed a route followed by the New River and Lee Navigation, and roads including the Roman Ermine Street, the Hertford Road and the later Great Cambridge Road.
• Ponders End railway station is in the London Borough of Enfield in north east London at Ponders End, and is in Zone 5, 16 km (10 miles) north of London Liverpool Street.
