A clean and clear glass window of your house not only makes your house attractive but also helps in reducing the heater bill there by allowing more solar energy into your house. Do not clean the glass window in direct sunlight because the cleaning solution will dry faster before wiping out which will bring streaks on the window.

The easiest way for cleaning glass windows is by using a glass cleaner and a dampened towel or paper towel for pulling out the cleaner. Many glass cleaning products available in the market are harmful to the environment, pets and human though they are labelled as safe products. So by spending a little bit of effort and time, you can make glass cleaning liquids at home. Glass can be cleaned efficiently with vinegar. It can be used either, diluted or at its full strength. The only thing is you have to get used to its odour. For a good fragrance you can add some tea tree oil along with vinegar.

Many glass utensils like jug, wine bottle, cruets or carafes used to hold water, glass flower vase may develop stains at the bottom. These stains can be easily removed by pouring vinegar into the glass so as to be above the stain mark. Hold it to stand one hour to overnight, depending on intensity of the stain. Add some dry uncooked rice or dry bean in the vessel before emptying the glass. Loosened stain can be scrubbed of with the grains by shaking the glass rapidly. Now pour the mixture out and rinse with water.

Another option is to use cornstarch for cleaning glass. It can be added to the natural cleaning mixture. Corn starch is good in order to prevent streaking. You should not use the above mixture in bright sunlight as the mixture will get dried up easily.

A third method for cleaning glass is using rubbing alcohol. It should be mixed with water at the ratio 1:2.Stains of hair spray from a mirror can be removed using rubbing alcohol. An advantage of using rubbing alcohol is that it prevents froth during winter time. You should provide enough ventilation while using this solution and it should be kept away from children.

After cleaning the glass, choose a very good material for wiping the glass. Paper towels are good but cheaper materials are available to substitute paper towels. Glass can be cleaned using newspaper which provide it from striking. Also the lint won’t be left behind after cleaning. You can also use old cloth diapers for wiping glass. Micro fibre cloth is the best way to wipe the glass. It can be used to clean the glass without even applying a cleaning liquid. Cleaning cloths made of micro fibre are super absorbent. It is highly reusable and can be used even after washing so many times.
